HONEYBEE FLYWAY
I did one of these paintings for a show in Boulder, where the theme was “Buzz” and all things bee inspired. As a child I became very familiar with the flight pattern bees do to orient themselves when leaving the hive and this became the theme of the paintings. The flight path towards the hole in the hedge together with the lush abundant vegetation became the theme. As the series continued it became more and more energetically based, representing the energy and color I saw of the bees flight path.
ST VRAIN ALPENGLOW
The late afternoon sun hitting the bend in the river together with its combination of transparent ice and snow covering.
The photo did not do it justice so I highlighted the winter willows and to make the dark rocks in the foreground more appealing I gave them a snow covering.
